About David Khakhaleishvili was born in 28 February of 1971 year - Kutaisi, Georgia. He entered in judo club in 1979 and his first trainer was Mr. Omari Merabishvili. During the 18 years Khakhaleishvili took a place in the various Tournaments and Championships. He ended his sport carier in the age of 26. There were some main reasons of this decision. First of them is Atlanta 1996 Olympiad, where Georgian Team Information Group made a great mistake and gave David Khakhaleishvili incorrect information about the place of official weigh control. Therefore he was removed from the Olympiad. All specialists statistically anticipated David Khakhaleishvili was gonna be the winner of this competition. Another reason was non instability in Georgia. It is interesting that situation in Georgia those years was very hard not for only Khakhaleishvili but also for many other Georgian sportsmen. Great part of them were gone from their motherland to the various countries. It would be enough to mention the story about Khakhaleishvili's friend Kakhi Kakhiashvili which was an Olympic Champion in 1992 and brought golden medal to Georgia but after this he has emigrated to Greece and in 1996 and 2000 brought golden medals to Greece. Besides Kakhiashvili we could mention some other sportsmen: Ilia Iladis (Judo) - winner of Athens 2004 Olympic Games (Greece); Ana Dogonadze - winner of Athens 2004 Olympic Games (Germany); Dimitri Dokhturishvili - winner of Athens 2004 Olympic Games (Uzbekistan). The people of Georgia are very talented in a various field of life. A sport is the object of great interest for Georgians. Having the population about 5 million people, Georgia has the great number of winners of Olympic Games (34), World and Europe Championships.
